Before you approve that app quote, have it checked.

App quotes are some of the hardest to judge. A single line like “user module” can mean weeks of work, or very little. And the app is only part of the cost: there’s usually a backend, an admin panel, store fees and ongoing updates. We go through every part of the quote and tell you what to clarify.

What we look at

What to check in mobile app quotes

Most of these are simply things a quote leaves open. Clarifying them up front protects you and your vendor.

  1. 01Native or cross-platform not explained. Separate Android and iOS apps can nearly double the work. Many apps do well with one cross-platform app (Flutter or React Native); others genuinely need native. It helps to know why the quote chose its approach.
  2. 02Backend and admin panel in one line. The server, database and admin panel are often a large share of the effort. A short breakdown makes them easier to understand.
  3. 03Third-party running costs not listed. Maps, SMS, push notifications, payments and cloud hosting all have monthly costs worth knowing upfront.
  4. 04App store work not mentioned. Store accounts, listings, screenshots and the review process take time. Worth confirming who handles them.
  5. 05Updates after launch not covered. New phone OS versions need app updates every year. Many quotes stop at launch, so it’s worth agreeing what comes next.

What drives the price

Check these against your quote

  • Native (two apps) versus cross-platform (one codebase)
  • Number of screens and user roles
  • Backend: APIs, database, admin panel
  • Real-time features: chat, tracking, live updates
  • Payments, maps, notifications and other integrations
  • Offline use and data sync
  • Testing across devices, and app store submission

Ask your vendor

Questions worth asking before you sign

  • Why native rather than cross-platform (or the other way round) for this app?
  • Can you break the hours down by screen or feature?
  • What exactly is in the backend and admin panel?
  • Which third-party services will we pay for each month, and roughly how much?
  • Who publishes the app, and under whose store account?
  • What does a year of updates and support cost?

Common questions

How much does it cost to build an app in India?

It varies widely with features, platforms and the backend. Rather than a generic range, we check whether your specific quote matches the work described and how apps are built today, including where AI-assisted development has made routine features faster.

Is Flutter or React Native good enough for my app?

For many business apps, yes. Some apps genuinely need native code (heavy graphics, deep device features). We tell you whether your vendor’s choice fits your app.

Can you review the backend and admin panel too?

Yes. We review the whole proposal, including server, database, admin panel and hosting. We review the proposal, not the code itself.
