Is your website quote fair? Let an expert check it first.
Website quotes vary hugely for what looks like the same site. The difference is usually in the details: how many pages and templates, who writes the content, what happens after launch, and who owns the result. We go through your quote line by line and explain what each part covers.
What we look at
What to check in website quotes
Most of these are simply things a quote leaves open. Clarifying them up front protects you and your vendor.
- 01Theme or custom design not stated. A theme-based site and a fully custom design are very different amounts of work, and both have their place. It helps to know which one you’re getting.
- 02Content not covered. Copywriting, product uploads and images are often outside the quote. Worth agreeing upfront who does them and at what cost.
- 03Running costs not listed. Hosting, domain and email have yearly costs. Knowing them in advance, and whose name the accounts are in, avoids surprises later.
- 04Revisions not defined. Clear revision terms help both sides agree on what’s included and avoid misunderstandings.
- 05Handover not described. Admin training, documentation, and access to the code, design files and hosting account are worth confirming in writing.
What drives the price
Check these against your quote
- Number of unique page templates, not just the number of pages
- Custom design versus an adapted theme
- E-commerce: number of products, payment gateways, shipping rules
- Integrations: CRM, booking, ERP, WhatsApp, analytics
- Content creation and migration from an old site
- Multiple languages
- Ongoing hosting, maintenance and security updates
Ask your vendor
Questions worth asking before you sign
- Is this a custom design or a customised theme? Which theme?
- Exactly which pages and templates are included?
- Who supplies the content and images, and is uploading them included?
- How many rounds of revisions are included?
- What will hosting, domain, email and maintenance cost each year?
- Will I own the domain, hosting account, code and design files?

Common questions
How much should a business website cost in India?
It depends far more on scope than on page count: custom design, e-commerce, integrations and content all change the price. That’s why we review the quote you actually have rather than quoting a generic range: we check whether the effort and rates match what’s being built.
Can you review a quote for an online store?
Yes. For e-commerce we also check payment gateways, product setup, shipping and tax rules, and transaction or plugin fees that often aren’t in the headline price.
Can you compare two or three website quotes?
Yes. Attach all of them; we line them up on scope and terms so you compare like with like, not just the totals.
